Why Us

What Sets Our Work Apart

We started as a hardwood flooring business, and we still install and refinish floors today, so one licensed contractor can build the house and finish its floors. We hold Louisiana residential contractor license 884790, and we are insured.

The Parish Flood Height Rule for Prairieville Homes

In Ascension Parish, a new home in a mapped flood zone, or an existing home where the work costs half the home's value or more, must sit 2 feet above the base flood elevation, the flood level the map sets. That extra height, called freeboard, rose from 1 foot to 2 feet on September 26, 2019. On a Prairieville lot in a flood zone, those 2 feet set how high the slab or piers go.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

We offer custom home building, roofing, home additions, bathroom remodeling, kitchen remodeling, hardwood floor refinishing, flooring installation, window replacement, house painting, and demolition and land grading.

Parts of Prairieville flooded in August 2016. The Amite River gauge at Welsh Gully set its record crest of 14.49 feet on August 17, 2016, more than 2 feet above the 12.24 feet it had reached in March 2016, its previous high. Before you buy an older house in a low spot, find out whether it took water that August.

The weather station at Prairieville recorded a peak gust of about 79 mph late on August 29, 2021, with sustained winds of about 39 mph. If your roof is older than that storm, walk the yard after the next high wind and check for shingles on the ground.

Ascension Parish permit forms ask for both the contractor's state license number and a parish license number. Both have to be in place before the permit is pulled.

Ascension Parish charges a flat $125 for a residential addition, elevation, or renovation permit, under the fee schedule in effect since October 4, 2024. A demolition permit is $80, and each building inspection after the first costs $30. Plan for those fees in the cost of an addition.
